Ask About Prep, Paperwork and Real Work
Choose a detailer or PPF installer by asking how they prepare the paint, where the work is done, what the warranty covers in writing, and to see real jobs they have done. A good shop answers plainly. Use the same questions with us and with anyone else you are considering.
Protection work seals in whatever is underneath it, and film or coating is hard to undo. The questions below help you judge the work before you pay for it.
What to Ask Before You Book
How do you prepare the paint?
Film and coatings only stick properly to clean, decontaminated paint, and they lock in any swirls underneath. Ask whether the price includes washing, decontamination and any paint correction, or whether those are extra.
Where will the car be worked on?
Dust is the enemy of film and coating. Ask whether the work is done indoors, in a workspace set up for it. We work in a private workspace and assess every panel before touching paint.
What exactly is covered?
For PPF, ask which panels and how much of each panel. For tint, ask which windows and what shade, and how that fits Ontario's rules for the front windows. For a coating, ask what prep comes with it.
What happens after the job?
Ask what care the product needs and who to call if an edge lifts or something does not look right. You want a phone number and a person, not a form.
How to Judge What You Hear
Warranty in writing
Ask who backs the warranty, the shop or the product maker, how long it lasts and what voids it. Get it on paper. A verbal promise is hard to rely on years later.
Real photos, real reviews
Look for photos of the shop's own work and reviews that describe a specific car and job. Read how the shop answers criticism. That tells you how they handle a problem.
A clear quote
A good quote says what is included and what is not. If one quote is far below the others, find out what is missing. Our pricing page explains how we quote.
Common Questions
What should I ask about a warranty?
Ask who backs it, the shop or the product maker, how long it lasts, what voids it and how to make a claim. Ask for it in writing. Any good shop, including us, should be able to answer.
How do I tell real reviews from filler?
Read the detailed ones. Real reviews mention the car, the work and how problems were handled. Look at recent reviews, not only the total count, and read how the shop replies to complaints.
Should I choose the cheapest quote?
Compare what each quote includes: prep, paint correction, coverage and what happens if something goes wrong. Two quotes with the same headline can describe very different jobs.
Can I see a car you have worked on?
Ask any shop for photos of real jobs they have done themselves, with the car and the work described. Be careful with stock photos.
